First of all: you can not recover the existing Joomla Administrator password, but you can reset it to a new one. The reason is that they (the passwords) are stored in the database using a one-way MD5 hash which prevents recovering the passwords. You can reset the Joomla password if you have access to the MySql database used by Joomla. For example, you can use MySql utilities such phpMyAdmin or MySQL Query Browser to edit the table names jos_users (I am considering that you are using the jos_ prefix, but that can be different to a Joomla insta[...]
