Kendo seems to be good, iaido also seems to be good and completing each other: practicing iaido you learn how to draw your katana and practicing kendo you learn how to use it. Iaido is based around a series of kata, or forms, which developed as swordsmen sought efficient ways of felling an opponent with a single blow. Several people I know are practicing kendo, and some of them have been practicing it for a long time (decades). You may want to try it and if you love it you'll keep practicing it.
